I was born in Seattle, Washington
in a neighborhood called Wallingford. This environment was a major
influence on who I am today. During High School, my father introduced
me to the University of Washington art library. There I was able
to see art that still inspires me today. Everything from Ancient
Chinese scrolls, Pacific Northwest Native American carved bentwood
boxes, the Mexican mural movement including Siqueiros, Orozco, and
Rivera, and Jean Michel Basqiuat. For a time all I wanted to make
was large murals. I was lucky enough to have the opportunity to
paint some really big scale walls in Seattle. Recently, a fifteen-year
old mural that I designed
and painted with the Phinney Ridge community for the Seattle Zoo
was painted over by the city, causing a major outcry among the locals.
It is in the process of being restored.

After traveling to Spain, London, Taiwan, Cairo, Japan and Israel
I moved to New York in 1999. In 2003 I graduated from the Pratt
Institute in Brooklyn, New York with a BFA in Drawing. That same
year I attended the Skowhegan School of painting and sculpture.
Since then I’ve been in numerous solo and group shows. Most
recently a group show at the Teapot
gallery in Cologne, Germany. My work is also included in the Drawing
Center Artist registry.
I currently reside in Queens, New York.
